Automated fluid management across three shifts — the experience of Rau AG, Switzerland
Founded in 1955, the Swiss company Rau AG employs around 80 people and makes turned and prismatic precision parts for the semiconductor, analytical and hydraulics industries. It works in three shifts with a wide range of materials — the third shift runs unattended, so the coolant has to be stable and universally usable.
The company uses MOTOREX SWISSCOOL coolants and has entrusted their management to the MOTOREX FluidLynx Coolant system. A single unit mixes, doses and tops up the coolant of up to six machine sumps, filters the fluid and separates tramp oil, monitors consumption, concentration, temperature, pH and conductivity, and keeps bacterial growth in check by introducing air.
According to production manager Herbert Wagner, the deciding factor was the system approach: advice, fluid, infrastructure and technical expertise from a single source.
