Sprinkle sufficient granules over the spill. Exceeding the dose improves the absorption process. To speed up absorption, use a broom straightaway to sweep the generously dispersed granules back and forth. Continue until the liquid has been completely absorbed. The darker the granules, the higher the degree of saturation.
